Different Responses to Floating Through Space is a piece I created while feeling completely ungrounded. Fresh off an absurdist "nothing matters and everything is neutral!" awakening, I was having a hard time re-learning how to move through life. This piece depicts the forces of black, white, and red magic. These forces are present everywhere in our universe, down to the inside of an atom. White magic is active and deals with will and creation: the active effort of a bird flying upwards. Black magic is passive and deals with limitations and destruction, represented here by a person falling. Red magic is neutral and characterized by pure surrender: shown here as a leaf, floating on the wind. Though it has its ups and downs, it trusts inherently in the universe and moved despite exerting no effort.
